The quote is Spanish and translates as 'shades of pink'
Loving it!!

A Week of Colour - Saturday - Rainbow

It's the conclusion of this weeks assignment
Going out in a blaze of colour
This shot was taken at the market in Barcelona which has to be seen to be believed
A riot of colour, sound and smell
I just loved the displays of sweets
Taken in 2006 when I had only a point and shoot camera but I'm gonna go back one day - that's a promise!!

Texture Tuesday - Black and White Edition

For this weeks Tuesday challenge I thought I would try something different.
I used 'aurora' with level adjustments
A change from the normal for me

A Week of Colour - Monday - Green

This weeks challenge is a colour-a-day. Today is 'green'..... well living in Ireland gives me a bit of an advantage being the Emerald Isle
This Irish ballad could have been written for my shot....feel free to sing along!!

I close my eyes and picture
The emerald of the sea
From the fishing boats at Dingle
To the shores of Dunardee.
I miss the river Shannon
And the folks at Skibbereen
The moorlands and the meadows
With their forty shades of green.

But most of all I miss a girl
In Tipperary town
And most of all I miss her lips
Those soft as eiderdown.
Again I want to see and do
The things we've done and seen
Where the breeze is sweet as Shalimar
And there's forty shades of green.

I wish that I could spend an hour
At Dublin's churning surf
I'd love to watch the farmers
Drain the bogs and spade the turf.
To see again the thatching
Of the straw the women glean
I'd walk from Cork to Larne to see
The forty shades of green.

But most of all I miss a girl
In Tipperary town
And most of all I miss her lips
So soft as eiderdown
Again I want to see and do
The things we've done and seen
Where the breeze is sweet as Shalimar
And there's forty shades of green.
Where the breeze is sweet as Shalimar
And there's forty shades of green...

Working Black and White

Working with black and white this week.  Edited in radlab with B/W Movie which I think gave this image an old fashioned romantic black and white movie feel

Whisper - New Techniques

Kim showed us some clever new techniques to create a gentle soft whisper feel. These roses by the way are called Miss Piggy!

Whisper

We were just given the theme 'Whisper' to consider this week so I knew the very shot I wanted to work on.
I used this delicate image of a creamy white rose .
The quote is from a song that has been in my head all day as a friend at work was singing it to herself this morning.  I was telling her Paul McCartney wrote it about his mother Mary.
Kim coming up with 'whisper' was quite a coincidence.

A little grunge perhaps!!

Thanks to Kim for two lovely new textures to play with. Tried keeping it very simple with 'just enough' layering

Brushes, Colour and Black and White - Beyond Layers

This weeks challenge is to work in black and white but bring just a hint of colour back, also the  use of brushes.
I love roses and this was the most beautiful cream one just waiting for me to buy it.  How could I resist?
Enjoyed this project many thanks to Kim
